Welcome to Year 1

*Please note, we ask that Y1 children be collected from the playground at the end of the school day under the yellow canopy on KS1 playground*

Notices

  • We have P.E. lessons on Tuesday afternoons and Friday mornings.

Please ensure that your child brings their full P.E. kit to school on these days. Remembering to return it to school if your child attends an after school sports club.

  • Reading books - Children have the opportunity to change their home reading book twice a week, usually on a Monday and a Thursday. Please write a note in the reading diary to let us know how your child is getting on with their reading at home and to inform us when a new book is required.  Reading diaries will be checked daily for messages and to monitor how often your child is reading at home.

  • Water bottles - Children may bring a water bottle into class so that they keep hydrated during the day. Please ensure that it is named clearly and is filled with plain water. Juice and flavoured waters are not accepted, in line with our school policy.

We have been learning about the Creation story in RE.

We used role play to retell the story.

Picture 1 God created creatures that live in the sea.
Picture 2 God created all creatures that fly.
Picture 3 God created human beings.
Picture 4 God created creatures that live on the land.
We went on a 'wonder walk' to take a look at all the wonderful things God has created.

Today, we have worked very hard to make beautiful Christmas cards for our families.
