Year 1 2020 - 2021
Y1 Class teacher
Welcome to Year 1 with Mrs Boswell and Mrs Hobson
Here are a few reminders of some of the routines in Year 1.
Currently our start and finish times are as follows: 8.55 am until 3.20 pm.
We hear the children read every day and reading books are changed frequently. Please make sure you are reading at least four times a week, each read should be for about 10 - 15 minutes.
Reading Reward System
Every time you make four moves on the chart, you will receive another certificate.
- 1st - Commended Reader
- 2nd - Bronze Reader
- 3rd - Silver Reader
- 4th - Gold Reader
- 5th - Platinum Reader
- 6th - Superstar Reader
- 7th - Champion Reader
- 8th - World Class Reader
- 9th - Ultimate Bookworm
- 10th - Stellar Reader
- 11th - Cosmic Reader
- For the foreseeable future, every Tuesday, the children will have a P.E lesson. On this day, they may come to school in sports clothing: Their PE top and their school sweatshirt, and either their PE shorts or leggings/jogging bottoms for colder weather (any colour).
- Pumps can be brought and left in school in a labelled PE bag and trainers may be worn on PE days only. This will reduce what is brought into school, and reduce the amount of contact for younger children who need support with changing.
- All belongings should be clearly named.
Tuck money is collected on a Friday, ready for next week. The price for toast is £1, each week.
Please send in a labelled water bottle for your child. Even when the weather is cold your child will still need a drink throughout the day.
Please make an appointment via the office if you need to speak to me about anything. I am happy to help and will make arrangements for a telephone phone call/meeting at the earliest convenience. Any urgent messages you may have regarding your child should be passed on via the office, as we are currently trying to minimise contact in order to keep everyone safe.
Thank you for your continued support,
